- S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?
Fake Dating! It’s far too cliched to ever end up in the show itself, but doesn’t just about everyone love it as a trope? I mean, I wrote To Wise To Woo, specifically because I enjoyed it so much (and, okay, also because while watching one of the episodes with Jane I observed – somewhere – that Dan should just get himself a proper girlfriend… and once I’d had that thought it was impossible to resist writing the fic).
Odd though it may sound, I’m not a huge fan of babyfic, because… I don’t know… I think a lot of the time they don’t really engage with how stressful the situation actually would be. That’s not to say it can’t be done well, mind you, but I think it’s harder.
- W: Do you like more general prompts, or more specific ones?
As a rule, I think I prefer the general prompts. When they get too detailed I start to feel like someone’s monkey. That said, while I may be slow to respond to them, I never delete prompts, especially not for Behind the Scenes. I fully intend to get to them at some point. (I admit though, when half a dozen people ask you for the same thing, you write it, and there’s no response… that can be a little dispiriting).
That said, I’ve never done the reblog a list of prompts thing before… maybe some time I’ll get to that.˚
